Tips for focusing

MOMO uses spherical aberration to make soft focus image. In such kind of lens, the peak point of focus will be moved by changing aperture settings.

A) In mirrorless cameras

1) Set the MOMO aperture before focusing.

2) Focus on the view screen. If your camera has focus assist function(enlarging the picture on the screen), it is helpful.

3) If you change the aperture settings, you need to focus again.

B) In SLR cameras

1) Set the MOMO aperture before focusing.

2) We recommend to use live-view function for focusing. If you use optical finder for focusing, never use split image, micro prism, phase-shift sensor. Or you will get unexpected results.

3) If you change the aperture settings, you need to focus again.

C) By the indication on the lens

On MOMO lens body, you can find 2 guide points for focusing. The round point is for F6.4(soft focus power: maximum) setting and the square point is for F22 setting. Please keep the meaning of these points in your mind.
