New "Standard" lens
 

During the 35mm film camera era (image size: 24mm x 36mm, full size), the f=50mm lens was called the "standard lens". This was because the f=50mm lens was thought to be similar to the viewing angle of the human eye. It was also because the f=50mm lens was easy to be designed for SLR cameras. Nowadays, a little wider view angle lens is considered "standard lens".


Currently, the most useful "standard lens" should be a little wider than 50mm and brighter than the ordinary zoom lens. We designed ANTHY35 based on this idea.

The MTF chart of ANTHY35 is showing lens performance that is excellent for most of the picture (21.6mm is the real corner). It is an easy to use lens.

 

 
Zero distortion
 

ANTHY35 was designed as a "standard lens". We tried to minimize the distortion for taking natural pictures. The distortion is at most 0.5% within the picture. It is substantially "zero distortion". Although ANTHY35 is a wide-angle lens, you can still use it like a traditional 50mm standard lens.

Fabulous bokeh
 

Bright lenses are often used to get shallow-focus pictures. The Japanese think that there is great beauty in out of focus pictures area. They call the beauty of out of focus area: "Bokeh-aji". "Bokeh" means outside focus point area and "aji" means taste. Nowadays, people across the world use the word "Bokeh" to express "Bokeh-aji".


Generally speaking, the lenses which has simple construction makes good Bokeh. The ANTHY35 bokeh is fabulous. Most zoom lenses have wider aperture average range at f 3.5-5.6 while ANTHY35 has an aperture of f 1.8.
